Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. Luke 14:23
Gospel-Centered Church Planting to reach the unchurched 99% in Japan.

A Word of Thanks

(from our E-newsletter (Mailchimp)

I wanted to take this chance to thank all of you for your prayers, encouraging notes and support of our ministry. This past 18 months in Japan reminds of a line from that catchy little Ozzy Osbourne song ‘We’re going off the rails on a crazy train.’ And that was preceeded by a year of home service that had Maki dealing with her worst morning sickness of any of her pregnancies. We finally got situated in a new home, and with our childrens’ educational situation, we feel confident that our ministry in Japan won’t move from this location for the next 20 years or so.

Then, just as we were itching to get back to ministry the pandemic hit. I’m sure many of you were hit more immediately than we were, with job furloughs or worse, but so far, God has continued to sustain our ministry through your prayers and gifts. We pray God’s continued sustenance for you and your families, and look forward to the economy returning to a more stable situation for everyone.  The church here is small, and feels fragile. God is certainly capable of doing anything without our help, but it is a unique opportunity that we have to share in this seemingly critical point in the history of the Japanese church. Pre-pandemic saw a trajectory of pastors retiring and not being replaced, and churches closing due to aging populations. And yet here we are. God has us here, and He continues to use you to bring us here. We are so proud to work with you, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and our team to reach Japan. Thank you so much!
